This picture book was created in the class “Alles Grau” (german: all grey) by Lisa Bucher at the FHP and is a curated and interpreted version of the novel “The Pigeon” by Patrick Süskind (commonly known for the novel “Perfume: The Story of a Murderer“).

One could say that the book The Pigeon is about a Parisian guard having a terrible day.

For me, it’s a story about uncomfortable truths. What happens when life becomes a prison? When one questions if what they have is truly what they wanted? When forgotten events still influence everything? When everything one relies on collapses—what is left?

Patrick Süskind tells the tragic tale of Monsieur Jonathan Noel, who loses control of his life without realizing it. It’s a story about regaining freedom and joy, showing that the most significant change often comes from simply a shift in perspective.
